Review: YOU ARE SO UNDEAD TO ME by Stacey Jay

Megan Berry's social life is so dead. Literally.

Fifteen-year-old Megan is a Zombie Settler by birth, which means she's part-time shrink to a bunch of dead people with a whole lot of issues.

And things are about to get even worse. Someone at school is using black magic to turn average, angsty Undead into flesh-eating Zombies and it's up to Megan to stop the zombie apocalypse...

Megan Berry is a Zombie Settler by birth, and that means that she is a part time shrink to some undead people with killer issues. We start off with Megan's dormant settler powers suddenly springing back to life after a traumatic experience that left Megan with a partial case of amnesia for 5 years. Perfect timing for a zombie to come a knockin' as she is about to embark on her first date with the hottest guy at school. NOT!!

Black magic practitioners created Reanimated Corpses (flesh eating zombies) who attacked her years ago and now Megan’s skills and memories return even as an Unsettled revisit her. All Megan really wants is to go to homecoming and not being babysat by Ethan her childhood friend , a Settler’s Affairs law enforcement official, whom she also thinks is a hottie. Yet, when you’re trailed by a bunch of slobbering corpses whenever you leave the house, it’s kinda hard to score a date.Let’s just say Megan’s love life could use some major help.

As Megan begins to refocus training on her reborn settler skills we see her grow up from some dance team obsessed young girl to someone who can seriously kick some undead butt. The most exciting parts of the book were those when Megan was battling with the reanimated corpses. Ahhhhmazing!! The "bad" guy motivation for the zombie ressurections surprised me and it was a nice twist that I did not see coming.

Upon finishing this novel from Stacey Jay and setting it down on my lap, I was left with this undead urge to devour it all over again. The zombie settler world that Jay has created is fresh, funny and exiting not to mention that you have some serious nail bitting moments that really get you jumpin' at the slightest noise. If you are a fan of Buffy then you will adore this book full of mystery, excitement, and teenage romance.
I cannot wait for the next installment In the Megan Berry zombie settler series due next year called UNDEAD MUCH.

I would love to see what you have to say :)

“Reading is everything. Reading makes me feel like I've accomplished something, learned something, become a better person. Reading makes me smarter. Reading gives me something to talk about later on. Reading is the unbelievably healthy way my attention deficit disorder medicates itself. Reading is escape, and the opposite of escape; it's a way to make contact with reality after a day of making things up, and it's a way of making contact with someone else's imagination after a day that's all too real. Reading is grist. Reading is bliss.”
