Scott Westerfeld Mini-Challenge

My friend Angela posted this challenge on Kepler's teen blogsite and I could not resist. Yes, I know...how could I join another challenge? This one was too good and easy to resist. The challenge is hosted here and the rules are thus:

The Scott Westerfeld Mini-Challenge will be for 2009.
January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009.
The goal of this one is to read TWO of his books.

His YA books include:

So Yesterday (2004)
Midnighters: The Secret Hour (2004)
Midnighters: Touching Darkness (2005)
Midnighters: Blue Noon (2006)
Uglies (2005)
Pretties (2005)
Specials (2006)
Extras (2007)
Peeps (2005)
The Last Days (2006)
He also has a handful of adult titles.

I will begin (Angela also) with Peeps. I have had this book for a while and what better opportunity but to read it NOW? Anyone interested in joining me?

So glad you joined too. And, as you know, I'm also starting with Peeps. Antonia tells me it is a VERY different vampire novel.

Thank you for informing me about this challenge. I like the fact that it is only 2 books. I think that I can manage that fine. *goes back to reading*

I'll join you. I read Uglies last week and I want to read Pretties and Specials.

Yeay!! I have to look at what other books I have. I know I own two more. It is just a matter of locating and making a decision.

I would love to do this challenge, but I've already read 8/10 books you have listed! He is an phenomenal author and I love all of his books. I cannot wait till Levianthan comes out!

I would love to see what you have to say :)

“Reading is everything. Reading makes me feel like I've accomplished something, learned something, become a better person. Reading makes me smarter. Reading gives me something to talk about later on. Reading is the unbelievably healthy way my attention deficit disorder medicates itself. Reading is escape, and the opposite of escape; it's a way to make contact with reality after a day of making things up, and it's a way of making contact with someone else's imagination after a day that's all too real. Reading is grist. Reading is bliss.”
