Book Swap and FUN with Heidi R. Kling

Last night I had the pleasure of going a TEEN BOOK SWAP event at HICKLEBEE's a bookstore that was simply precious and fun. This great bookstore is full of history (their walls full of author signatures and illustrator's artwork) and wonderfully cheerful staff that made me feel immediately welcome upon entering their establishment.

Not only did I enjoy going to a new book store but I was happy to see fellow bloggers like Pam from Bookalico.us who is also Hicklebee's resident blogger and Alicia from Shooting Stars Mag.

The TEEN BOOK SWAP event started with a teen band (sorry I cannot remember what their band name was) that played Beatles tunes and kept us entertained for nearly a half hour while we noshed on pizza, cookies, M&M's and lollipops. YUM YUM! Pam talked about the event and future events at Hicklebee's then introduced Heidi R. Kling who came up to the mic in the most awesome boots that I totally want to steal, just kidding. Heidi then talked about SEA, her debut novel, answered questions and signed books. Afterwards those that attended taked about the books they brought in to swap then we selected what we wanted in order. To round out a great night all attendee's had a chance at some great ARC's or signed posters.

Heidi R. Kling's awesome boots. Me wants....my precious.
Look at who's signature is next to J.K. Rowling. Look inside the heart.

I would love to see what you have to say :)

“Reading is everything. Reading makes me feel like I've accomplished something, learned something, become a better person. Reading makes me smarter. Reading gives me something to talk about later on. Reading is the unbelievably healthy way my attention deficit disorder medicates itself. Reading is escape, and the opposite of escape; it's a way to make contact with reality after a day of making things up, and it's a way of making contact with someone else's imagination after a day that's all too real. Reading is grist. Reading is bliss.”
