My Thoughts:

I was hesitant about this well talked about book because contemporary fiction is not my favored genre, but I am ever grateful for stepping out of my "paranormal" comfort box and devouring this amazing novel.

The Probability of Miracles centers on Cam, one of the most sarcastically witted and completely unforgettable protagonists I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing on the written page. Cam lives in Orlando and comes from a Disney World show performing lineage an interesting plot point that I feel adds a bit of fun that keeps the narrative from being too heavy. As the story begins Cam learns that there are no other treatments available to save her from the cancer that has ravaged her body for years. This declaration causes Cam's mom to take matters into her own hands and move Cam and her sister to Promise a town that has been known for it's miracles. Yet, with the proof of small miracles occurring all around Cam she is not convinced until new friendships, a love interest and a job convince her otherwise. Maybe Promise produces miracles after all...

If you read the back cover you know what the end result that this story has to offer; tears and heartache, but don't let that disway you from picking it up and having a memorable experience with a great book. I loved the story because of it's peculiar setting and it's protagonist, Cam. Her acerbic tongue is a defense that is perfected to shield her from pain, but it did lead to some of the best moments in this story. Watching her soften up and embrace what Promise had to offer is worth every single tear and I will always remember it.

Wendy Wurner has penned a beautiful story that has a quirky edge and a cast of characters that you will not easily forget. A story about a girl with cancer and her journey to embrace and love her life and those around her.
