Let The Games Begin: Why I Want to be on TEAM DAUNTLESS!!

DAUNTLESS: fearless, undaunted.
Undaunted: courageously resolute, especially in the face of danger or difficulty; not discouraged.
It’s those two definitions (fearless, and undaunted) that I found so fascinating. Being fearless and being undaunted are two different things. And the characters in DIVERGENT struggle with that distinction.

We believe that cowardice is to blame for the world’s injustices.
We believe that peace is hard-won, that sometimes it is necessary to fight for peace. But more than that:
We believe that justice is more important than peace.
We believe in freedom from fear, in denying fear the power to influence our decisions.
We believe in ordinary acts of bravery, in the courage that drives one person to stand up for another.

DIVERGENT by Veronica Roth is an amazing novel with a most unique concept, centering on five different factions that govern that population. DAUNTLESS: THE BRAVE is one of these five factions. The Dauntless aren’t just about being fearless; they’re about facing anything, no matter what. They own their fears and overcome them, and take action even in light of their own fears.

Why I want to be on #TeamDauntless? Being part of the Dauntless faction isn’t just about jumping onto moving trains and zip-lining off of Chicago’s tallest building (though that is part of it); being Dauntless is also about facing mental and psychological challenges. Being a cancer survivor I decided that I wanted make a difference by helping those that are dealing with the disease. After many years of sacrifice and education I attained my goal by becoming a Radiation Therapist and faced my fear of cancer by dealing with it on a daily basis. This is what drives me, the strength that I have and the bravery that I see in all the patients that I take care of. DAUNTLESS, each and everyone single one of us.

Today, begins a month long journey with each faction hosting a month long adventure of fun and my faction, DAUNTLESS has alot of amazing things for everyone to enjoy. So, please stay tuned and return often.

I would love to see what you have to say :)

“Reading is everything. Reading makes me feel like I've accomplished something, learned something, become a better person. Reading makes me smarter. Reading gives me something to talk about later on. Reading is the unbelievably healthy way my attention deficit disorder medicates itself. Reading is escape, and the opposite of escape; it's a way to make contact with reality after a day of making things up, and it's a way of making contact with someone else's imagination after a day that's all too real. Reading is grist. Reading is bliss.”
