My Thoughts:


The Selection by Kiera Cass is wholly entertaining and unlike anything I have read before, it is pleasantly unconventional and sweet. A novel that you will not forget and will be left clamoring for more. 


The Selection is a winning combination of The Bachelor and The Princess Diaries while being wrapped up in a society governed by a severe caste system. Mix them all together and you have a novel that is riveting from beginning to end. The concept for this novel initially seemed predictable but it is anything but that, and I was totally taken in by the love "interest" that was unexpected but heart skipping welcome. This story also hosts a stellar cast that is quite memorable and endearing, especially America Singer whom I found to be a well developed character that is genuine and pleasantly complex. I also enjoyed the interactions between America and Prince Maxon, I could not seem to get enough of them.


Kiera Cass has created a novel that is fresh, timely and romantic to it's very core. I would recommend this novel to anyone that enjoys a story that has a few unexpected twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. The Selection is also a treat for those of us that enjoy reality TV shows. I have to admit that I am skeptical of shows based off of books but I am excited about the TV series that is being made from this book. I have a feeling that it will be a very guilty pleasure.
