Waiting on Wednesday: THE FARM by Emily McKay

Jill at Breaking the Spine started this and I believe that it's awesome" This blog post is to alert those that visit about "the" book that we cannot wait to get our hands on.

THE FARM by Emily McKay is a book that I am eagerly awaiting. It sounds wicked crazy and with a premise that is original and that is a very good thing when dealing with the world of Vampires. I cannot wait for this novel to hit the shelves and creep me out.  Now, you know my WoW, tell me what is yours?

From the alternating viewpoints of two sisters, a powerful new vampire mythology takes shape.

When vampires began devouring humans in a swarm across America, the surviving young people were rounded up and quarantined. But the quarantines were only a trap—holding pens where human blood was turned into more food for the undead monsters, known as Ticks. Surrounded by electrical fences, most kids try to survive the Farms by turning on each other. Lily and her twin sister Mel have another plan.
Mel’s autism helps her notice things no one else notices—like the portion of electrical fence that gets turned off every night. Getting across won’t be easy, but as Lily gathers what they need to escape, a familiar face appears out of nowhere, offering to help...

Carter was a schoolmate of Lily’s. Managing to evade capture until now, he has valuable knowledge of the outside world. But like everyone on the Farm, Carter has his own agenda, and he knows that behind the Ticks is an even more dangerous threat to the human race...

I would love to see what you have to say :)

“Reading is everything. Reading makes me feel like I've accomplished something, learned something, become a better person. Reading makes me smarter. Reading gives me something to talk about later on. Reading is the unbelievably healthy way my attention deficit disorder medicates itself. Reading is escape, and the opposite of escape; it's a way to make contact with reality after a day of making things up, and it's a way of making contact with someone else's imagination after a day that's all too real. Reading is grist. Reading is bliss.”
