Bridging the Gap: NOVELLA SYTLE

Definition of NOVELLA

1 plural novelle: a story with a compact and pointed plot
2 plural usually novellas: a work of fiction intermediate in length and complexity between a short story and a novel
Novella's are nothing new but this year they have been making quite an appearance in the YA genre of reading.  This fact makes me very happy because it is such a treat to get an extra bit between my favorite reads. Today I am mentioning a few of the upcoming novella's that are on my radar and I am curious to know what your feelings are on this trendy little read. What novella's are you waiting fore? Do you like it, love it or just don't know?

“ISOLATION is a flashback to the time before the Break, and careful readers of PARTIALS can probably guess at least part of what it’s about. I’ll be revealing details slowly over the next few months, but for now here’s some teasers:

1) It’s about a minor character from PARTIALS, providing a lot of backstory for him/her (I’m not telling which).

2) You’ll get some hints about the state of the world leading up to the Break.

3) You’ll learn more about the Partials themselves than ever before.”

DESTROY ME

Publisher: Harper Collins
Pages: 50
Find it on Amazon KindleB&NGoodreads
----------------------
In Tahereh Mafi’s Shatter Me, Juliette escaped from The Reestablishment by seducing Warner—and then putting a bullet in his shoulder. But as she’ll learn in Destroy Me, Warner is not that easy to get rid of....

Back at the base and recovering from his near-fatal wound, Warner must do everything in his power to keep his soldiers in check and suppress any mention of a rebellion in the sector. Still as obsessed with Juliette as ever, his first priority is to find her, bring her back, and dispose of Adam and Kenji, the two traitors who helped her escape. But when Warner’s father, The Supreme Commander of The Reestablishment, arrives to correct his son’s mistakes, it’s clear that he has much different plans for Juliette. Plans Warner simply cannot allow.

Set after Shatter Me and before its forthcoming sequel, Unravel MeDestroy Me is a novella told from the perspective of Warner, the ruthless leader of Sector 45.

ROAR AND LIV
Under the Never Sky Promotional e-Book
Coming 10/30/12
ISBN-13: 978-062239556
Harper Collins, 60 pages.
---------------------------

"Roar and Liv Short Story: I'm almost finished with my first draft of the Roar and Liv short story and I'm really, really starting to wish it were a full-length book. There's something about Roar that's so fun and interesting to me--not to mention that his love for Perry and Liv is pretty darn disarming. I have absolutely loved being in his point of view and I can't wait to share this short piece with you. Stay tuned for more details!" --from Veronica Rossi blog.

I would love to see what you have to say :)

“Reading is everything. Reading makes me feel like I've accomplished something, learned something, become a better person. Reading makes me smarter. Reading gives me something to talk about later on. Reading is the unbelievably healthy way my attention deficit disorder medicates itself. Reading is escape, and the opposite of escape; it's a way to make contact with reality after a day of making things up, and it's a way of making contact with someone else's imagination after a day that's all too real. Reading is grist. Reading is bliss.”
