My thoughts: 

When angel themed novels began to hit the YA genre wave I became obsessed with reading them all, but found that they did not seem to connect with me in some form or another. I could not relate. That is, until I read EMBRACE by Jessica Shirvington.

EMBRACE was an angel inspired read that I enjoyed and could get lost in it's nonstop adventure. The story's main character is Violet Eden, an ordinary teen that discovers that she is destined to enlist in an elite band of brethren that protect humans from fallen angels. Yet, she refutes her proclaimed destiny for it would mean that she could never be with the boy that she loves. Then enters a new boy, someone dark and dangerous that she believes will save her from her future, but she will soon learn that you cannot fight one's destiny.

I enjoyed many aspects of this story. Violet was a character that I could relate to. Honest, headstrong but not impervious to fault. These qualities made her stand out on the page and kept the story going for me. I also found the premise of these type of warriors to be very well executed and wanted to see more of them. The only bit that I could find fault in was a romantic moment that I felt seemed a bit out there, but in the context of the story it fit. 

Jessica Shirvington has penned a series that while dealing with Angles is able to place a spin on her story that makes them unique and lethal. The world that she has created is set at a fast past that keeps the story moving and you will be hard pressed to put it down once you begin reading.
