It's a lonely existence--until, one day, it isn't. A meets a girl named Rhiannon. And, in an instant, A falls for her, after a perfect day together. But when night falls, it's over. Because A can never be the same person twice. But yet, A can't stop thinking about her. She becomes A's reason for existing. So each day, in different bodies--of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds, walks of life--A tries to get back to her. And convince her of their love. But can their love transcend such an obstacle?

My Thoughts:

EVERY DAY by David Levithan is so insanely amazing that I cannot properly put words together to explain how beautiful it was to me, but I will certainly try. 

A is a kind being of unknown origin who travels from body to body every day of it's wondrous existence. A never had any problems and followed a strict code of conduct; live it's day in the body it has and honor it, don't cause it any harm and make sure to leave things as is. Don't change anything. Then A falls in live with his host's girlfriend and it's life forever changes all A wants to do is be with her, hold her, kiss her, love her. Yet, that is a tragic impossibility because A can never stay within the same body twice and being inside a different body every day can push the limits of tolerance despite what the heart wants.

David Levithan created a story that is unbelievably moving and heartbreaking while demonstrating the limits of tolerance. We always say "until love do us part" but will we think that if the person we love changes daily and we wouldn't know what they look like from day to day. A girl one day, a boy the next and all the other changes inbetween? At first this may seem feasible but what happens when reality sinks in? These topics were well explored through A and Rhiannon's interactions.  At times it was romantic and all consuming and others it was heartbreaking and uncomfortable. Yet, I could not stop reading and I wanted to know how their love story could continue in this manner.

Besides being gracefully written and thought provoking, EVERY DAY also introduces one of the most beautiful characters that I have ever had the pleasure of reading about. A is an amazing being that is sweet and honest with morals that are understood and admired. And I would love to have had it's origins better explored and with this novel's ending I am hopeful that my wish may be realized.

I don't need to tell you that this story will make you question yourself and what you think you could accept in the name of love and you will be thinking about it long after you have finished reading it.  So, don't walk but run to your closest book store and get EVERY DAY and I promise you will not be disappointed. Just don't forget to have tissues on hand.
