My Thoughts:

Just when I thought that I could not love this series any more...with THE LOST PRINCE Julie Kagawa has managed to pull the rug out from underneath me and made me face plant into the IRON FEY love pool even deeper than before.

I will be the first to admit that I did not know how I would enjoy this new spin off series. So, when I began reading this new book I entered with great trepidation but I need not have worried myself because I was irreversibly enamored of Ethan Chase within the first few pages and was a willing captive to wherever Julie wanted to take me.

If you are a fan of the Iron Fey series (and really how could you NOT be) you will be more than pleased to return to this fascinating world with it's myriad of colorful characters and harrowing situations but instead of Meghan taking center stage it is her younger brother Ethan that know holds court.  Jump to the future and Ethan is in high school, alone and quite stoic, but he has to be in order to survive. Since his kidnapping into the fey realm he has been sighted with the gift of seeing the fae, it is a fact of life that terrifies Ethan but as long as he maintains his rules he manages to survive. That is until he breaks his rules and befriends someone that more than he bargained for and he must do the unthinkable and call upon the only one that can help him. Now he must use his wits to survive and save someone he never intended to fall for.

I cannot begin to properly place into words how happy I was to return to this world and have my beloved characters return to the page for me to enjoy (hello Ash, Meghan and.....) Besides reuniting to these adored characters we are treated to some new ones that quickly move up into the "I adore to bits" love pile. And soon they are embroiled in a dire mission that brings back fond memories while being it's own unique adventure. The only complaint that I can think of is that I wish I had more of this story to read.

THE LOST PRINCE is well paced and wicked good and you will not be disappointed in returning to this amazing world that has always been a pleasure to indulge in. Just a word of caution, bring tissues because you are going to need it.
