Seventeen-year-old Lauren is having visions of girls who have gone missing. And all these girls have just one thing in common—they are 17 and gone without a trace. As Lauren struggles to shake these waking nightmares, impossible questions demand urgent answers: Why are the girls speaking to Lauren? How can she help them? And… is she next? As Lauren searches for clues, everything begins to unravel, and when a brush with death lands her in the hospital, a shocking truth emerges, changing everything.

Hayley's Thoughts:

17 and Gone is a captivating thriller that will give you the chills. It's one of those stories that make you look over your shoulder because you feel like someones watching you. This book takes you on a journey to uncovering what really happened to all the 17 year old girls who have gone missing.

It all starts when Lauren is late for school and sees Abby Sinclair's missing poster. Abby is 17 just like Lauren. Lauren doesn't think anything of it at first, but then she begins to see Abby everywhere. The only thing is, Lauren is the only one who can see her. Soon Lauren is convinced that she can find Abby. That she can save her. Then she starts dreaming about a mysterious house house were she meets more girls that are 17 and missing.

Lauren discovers that she knows one of the girls in the house. She had repressed the memory of the night Fiona went missing because at the time she was too young to understand. Now, with Fiona's help Lauren Becomes even more determined to find Abby. Soon though, Layne's determination becomes a deadly obsession. This obsession has taken complete control over her life creating a distance between herself and everyone she loves. Her obsession with saving Abby and the other girl puts her life in danger and ends up landing in the hospital.

Nova Ren Suma weaves an intricate story full of danger, mystery, and thrills. She has done an incredible job at writing a book that is a nail bitter and spectacularly dangerous! It's defiantly one of those books you can't bare to put down.

I would love to see what you have to say :)

“Reading is everything. Reading makes me feel like I've accomplished something, learned something, become a better person. Reading makes me smarter. Reading gives me something to talk about later on. Reading is the unbelievably healthy way my attention deficit disorder medicates itself. Reading is escape, and the opposite of escape; it's a way to make contact with reality after a day of making things up, and it's a way of making contact with someone else's imagination after a day that's all too real. Reading is grist. Reading is bliss.”
